The shoot covers three weeks: the build, the finished stage and the evening show. The main stage on the plaza is built with a truss roof, flown PA, a full lighting grid and ground support towers. Khan Shatyr opened on 6 July 2010.
An archive page. We show what the photographs recorded, and we do not claim a scope of work that the sources do not support.
01 / What the frames show
The roof is built on truss and lifted on ground support towers, so it neither rests on the building nor hangs from it. The PA is flown from the roof and the lighting is laid out across the grid. In the daylight frames people walk past the stage, and they give the scale of the structure.

02 / The build in frame
This shoot holds a set that is rare for the site: the bare roof grid with fixtures already rigged, a view straight up a ground support tower, and the same stage finished. The evening frames show gobo projections across the plaza and red lasers over the crowd.

Not confirmed
- Whether the outdoor stage belongs to the mall opening ceremony or to the Capital City Day programme: both ran on the same days.
- Andrea Bocelli sang at the opening ceremony. The sources do not say whose equipment stood on his stage, and we do not claim it: our frames show the outdoor stage on the plaza.
